MusicJam®

Portable Audio Effects Mixer for the iPod®

iPhone works with MusicJam, (asterisk).

The iPhone was recently tested with the MusicJam for fit and function.

The iPhone is slightly taller than a video iPod, which causes no problems when it comes to physically fitting into the MusicJam.

However, you may be aware that the headset jack on the iPhone was redesigned to accommodate a microphone input.  Thus, you'll have to purchase a headset adapter (they range from $9 to $49, depending on the model) to make it compatible with the MusicJam (and your old headsets for that matter).  Any adapter will work and the sound quality is not affected, even by the lowest cost adapter.  Here are three.  The first is the Belkin, the second is the Griffin, and the third is the Shure.  The Shure model has a built-in microphone, which is the reason for its higher cost):

The other caveat is the display of videos.  The iPhone's tilt sensor works works with the songs only--all video is oriented horizontally, which is ninety degrees away from the way we would like it to be displayed for use in the MusicJam.  We have registered a firmware update suggestion to Apple, and hopefully they will include this (along with other parts of the iPhone experience that do not adjut when the iPhone is rotated.

The sound quality is, of course, the same.  Bottom line:  Get a $10 adapter and you can jam with your iPhone.
